12:45 pmCareer fairs come with great opportunities: connections at companies, businesses cards for hiring managers, and recommendations to apply for specific jobs and internships. These also come with lesser-known rules for how to follow up. In this session, we will hear from a University Recruiter on best practices to follow up. We will discuss how to send a post-career fair email to a hiring manager, discuss the timeline for following up, and teach you how to use your career fair connections for the next step in your career journey!

UCC: Navigating the Social Landscape of Employment for Neurodiverse Candidates

2:00 pmLearn about the “hidden curriculum” in the workplace and how to navigate some of the social aspects of employment. The hidden curriculum is the assumed knowledge that is universally known and understood (expectations, attitudes, values, terminology, and behavior), often thought of as “common sense”, but these hidden aspects can be very challenging to navigate. We will discuss what you can do now to prepare for the workplace and how to better understand these aspects of employment.
Note: Teams meeting can be joined with identify hidden if preferred.
